Follow Your Heart Index Unveils 2027 Edition Preview, Ranking U.S. City Markets and ZIP Codes for the Next Chapter

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — October 13, 2026

FollowYourHeartIndex.com has introduced a preview of the 2027 Follow Your Heart Index, a national place-comparison platform designed to help people explore where a new chapter might feel more possible.

The Index brings five practical dimensions into one transparent 0-to-100 whole-life score: Partner Availability, Settlement Feasibility, Economic Capacity, Relationship Environment, and Opportunity Strength. Every component remains visible so readers can see why a place rises in the ranking and where tradeoffs remain.

The approved whole-life balance is Partner Availability 25%, Settlement Feasibility 25%, Economic Capacity 15%, Relationship Environment 15%, and Opportunity Strength 20%. A place must have all five governed component scores to receive an official Follow Your Heart Index score.

Top Five U.S. City Markets

  1. Hoboken, New Jersey — 73.8
  2. Mountain View, California — 72.5
  3. Cambridge, Massachusetts — 72.2
  4. Somerville, Massachusetts — 71.9
  5. Medford, Massachusetts — 71.5

The platform is built to make geography easier to understand at multiple levels. The city-market rankings cover 1,291 eligible U.S. city markets, while the ZIP-level publication includes 26,531 nationally ranked ZIP codes. The geographic tools are designed to let users move from national rankings to state, city, and ZIP-level exploration without changing the underlying governed score.

Community Data Is Context, Not a Score

Follow Your Heart also publishes race, ethnicity, ancestry, heritage, birthplace, and other community-discovery information so users can better understand where communities are concentrated. Those identity and community measures do not affect the Follow Your Heart Index score. They are separate context tools intended to help people learn more about a place.

What “2027 Edition” Means

2027 Edition describes the publication edition. Individual source datasets may have earlier official vintages because federal, housing, employment, and other datasets are released on different schedules.

The Follow Your Heart Index is designed as an evidence layer for people considering a move for love, work, housing, family, belonging, opportunity, or a fresh start. It does not tell people where they should live. Instead, it helps them compare places using a consistent framework while keeping the underlying components visible.
